Description
Dimitris Vodenas (1892-1993) was a sailor on the old steam-powered battleship "YDRA" during the First World War. He was abandoned in the port of Alexandria, Egypt, because he missed his ship's departure, having been forgotten while partying in a bar. He was forced to work there to secure his ticket back to Greece. He was one of the first inhabitants of the Votsi settlement.
